Breitling Gasket Replacement
This fantastic looking Breitling was brought into us for a new battery and a pressure test to check for the appropriate water resistance. Look carefully at the photo on the left which is how it came into us. The gasket is way too thin, not even sticking up above the gasket channel, offering absolutely no water resistance at all. Luckily for our customer it rarely goes anywhere near water so was saved from a potentially very expensive movement, dial and hands repair or replacement. The image on the right shows the correct thickness of case back gasket correctly fitted by us, with a water resistance test confirming that the watch was now sealed correctly. The original gasket was apparently fitted by a large, multiple retail jeweller based in the UK with its last battery replacement.
